After reading about cross-contamination within bulk bins, I decided to give some other packaged
brands of oats a try....
Although oats are naturally gluten - free, many
brands of oats contain gluten due to contamination from how they are grown and processed.
There isn't a particular
brand of oats which I use but I always use organic jumbo oats.
Might try it with a little less orange juice next time, as I ended up with some liquid left over (may have been the particular
brand of oats I used, though?).
I also got some free oats, Bob's Red Mill are my favourite
brand of oats - love their pinhead ones - Bob himself was there too, signing copies of his book which was pretty cool.
It seems a bit crunchy, perhaps I need to cut back on the baking time, or it could have been
the brand of oats I used.
Could you share with us what
brand of oats you use?
Quaker oats is what I used, but
any brand of oats will work just fine!

brands like Fazer use Finnish
oats extensively in their bread products, and in their gluten - free ranges.

Though the ingredients
of meat - free kibble varies between
brands, they usually include corn, soybeans, barley, carrots, wheat,
oats, brown rice, tomatoes, flaxseed and a variety
of plant - based oils just to name a few.
I realised they were missing out something in their diet (they were on a very good
brand of kibble) and changes their morning feed to porridge
oats.
