What I love about
breakfast bars is they can be made on Sunday (during my
routine weekly
meal prep) and can stay fresh through the work week.
Recently, I have cut time from my
meal prep
routine by prepping my
breakfast each morning at work.
I do not like to do the same thing for too long, so this week I added
breakfast back to my
meal prep
routine.
I stick to a simple
routine that includes protein at every
meal: lactose free yogurt or oatmeal or eggs for
breakfast, lunch: a salad with whatever greens I have plus cheese, nuts and any leftover protein (steak, turkey meat, etc) and use basil, olive oil and salt for a dressing.
I usually run in the am, before
breakfast, so eating a
meal after is no problem, but my weight
routines are usually done in the evening after my kids are in bed.
Three
meals at
routine times of the day, such as
breakfast around 7 a.m., lunch at 12 to 1 p.m. and dinner at 6 to 7:30 p.m., is ideal.
I've found a
routine that consistently works for me and that is prepping
breakfast and lunch for the work week ahead of time in bulk — aka
meal prepping at its finest.
