Because the light is adjustable, you can read at night without waving to wake your neighbor with
a bright tablet screen and, more importantly, you can read in the dark without a booklight.
Viewing angles are great though and it's definitely one of
the brightest tablet screens you can lay your hands on that's not a Retina display.

Despite pre-launch rumours that the Samsung's
tablet would be getting an AMOLED display, both the iPad and the Tab are equipped with an LCD
screen, as indeed is the PlayBook, meaning that none of them are really that well suited to viewing on a
bright, sunny day (not always a problem in the UK, sadly).
At 400 nits brightness, this
tablet like so many other Chuwi
tablets has a very
bright screen, far above the norm, and this is a very useful feature to have on a
tablet.
That said, the Galaxy Tab 10.1's
screen was noticeably
brighter than the Vizio 8 - Inch
Tablet's; whites and colors on websites looked muted on the Vizio.

Back to the
tablet that we know is real and the AT100 packs a 10.1 - inch
screen that is sporting the Resolution +
bright light reflecting contrast feature, along with a 1280x800 resolution, and boasts 1 GB of RAM with 16 GB of internal memory.
That
screen is also
brighter and more colorful, with an sRGB rating of 104.2 percent (its smaller siblings top out at 79.4 percent) and a brightness max of 405 nits (the other Fire
tablets only go up to 380 nits).
My only gripe about the Kindle Fire is the same gripe I have with all LCD - based
tablet computers being marketed as e-readers: most people find LCD
screens tiring on the eyes, and would prefer the reading experience on an e-Ink
screen (which is easier on the eyes, visible in
bright sunlight, and allows for much longer battery life).
Reading on a
tablet (in relatively
bright environments) is improved immensely when applying a matte anti-glare
screen protector to the
screen face.
The Samsung Tab Pro 8.4 is widely available for $ 199, and simply leaves these
tablets in the dust with a Snapdragon 800 (2.3 ghz) cpu, excellent /
bright 2500x1600
screen, 2gb ram, in a nice 8.4» format.
