While there are perks in
bringing home an adult dog, there are some aspects which may need to be addressed with your
new dog, primarily: house training,
crate training, basic obedience, fear issues, dominance issues, health concerns and bonding.

When surrendering the dog please
bring the following items if you have them: Toys, bowls,
crate, blankets, beds, food and any other items you may have so it will make it easier for the dog to adjust to his / her
new home.
One of the most common mistakes people make when
crate training their
new puppy or dog is giving in to barking or whining overnight and
bringing their dog up on the bed.
If possible, have your
crate purchased and setup prior to
bringing your
new dog home for the first time.
Before you
bring a
new puppy or dog into your home, you will need to determine if
crate training is right for your family.
