This blend of
brown, black and red rice with roasted
sweet potatoes, courgettes,
tomatoes, sugar snap peas, spinach and pomegranates is so yum, with a great range of flavours and textures.
For packed lunches I normally make big batches of quinoa and
brown rice with apple cider vinegar / lime and salt and then do a big thing of roasted veg — things like
sweet potato and squash cubes, so I throw a mix of that into a tupperwear with some raw veg — things like avocado, grated carrot,
tomatoes and then some hummus / lentils / chickpeas / seeds for protein.
It tastes amazing in a rainbow bowl with grilled peppers, sun - dried
tomatoes, rocket and pomegranates; or as a dip for your crackers,
sweet potato wedges or crudités; used as a sauce for your pasta; spread thickly on some sueprfood bread; stirred into some
brown rice with a little miso or eaten straight from the bowl with a spoon!
In a pot whisk together the jarred
tomato sauce, chili sauce, molasses,
sweet Thai chili sauce *,
brown sugar, mustard, salt, and pepper until well combined.
The answer: a combination of
tomato sauce, mustard, vinegar and dark
brown sugar, which forms a sticky -
sweet, crackly glaze when baked.

brown sugar in the ingredients list below is there to mellow the acidity of the
tomatoes, not to make this a
sweet dish.
The ancho and pasilla chile powders add Southwestern flavors to the traditional barbecue - sauce ingredients:

brown sugar.

I too, have a severe soy allergy, but I have found coconut liquid amino, which you can use instead, or you can use vegan Worcestershire sauce mixed with some coconut oil, I also add a half of cup of
brown rice flour and a can of pickled beets mashed in for «corned beef», and BBQ ribz and a can of
sweet potato for» smoked turkey» and both with some
tomato paste for hot linkz.
Season to taste — a sprinkling of
brown sugar works a treat if your
tomatoes are not super
sweet.
