We're so excited to see our beautiful new
buffalo check chair and our pretty new pillow and can't wait to share the «after» photos with you once the process is complete.
The old, dark charcoal chalkboard paint got the boot and we decided to replace it with a lighter, brighter and slightly Scandinavian - cool wallpaper that would perfectly complement
our buffalo check chair and make a statement on that wall.
We visited Thomas Jefferson's home Monticello in Virginia and in one room they had the same red

Our old $ 25 blush velvet
chair was reupholstered by Calico Corners in their beautiful
buffalo check fabric called «Elwood Thunder».
The pattern of «Elwood Thunder», the fabric we chose, was perfectly placed across the
chair to highlight all of its classic details, a little bit of extra fluff was added to the cushion to return the seat to its former glory, and the floral pillow (in Ralph Lauren's «Ashfield Floral») in that coordinating carbon and cream colorway is even more fun with the
buffalo check than I thought it would be.
We would find the perfect
buffalo check fabric at Calico that felt uniquely us, have them reupholster the
chair, and in turn, create the centerpiece of our «new» living room space.
They have these wonderful
chairs on site for events so all I had to do was add some
buffalo check and blue and white!
I learned from other Insta - captions and comments that Lauren found the bed frame for $ 50, the chandelier was original to the house, the bedskirt and boxwood wreath from Target, the wooden
chair is the only dining
chair they were able to salvage from their first home, the vintage oars came from Brett's fire station, they found the door mounted above the bed years ago on a date, Lauren won the (customized) Stillwater Farm sign from Charlie and Ella, and the
buffalo check duvet is from Ikea.
Love the
