built assemblies insulated with sprayed polyurethane foam insulation have higher levels of airtightness than conventionally - constructed, batt insulated assemblies.
These risks are addressed in current
building code with the requirement for air - impermeable insulation (i.e., rigid plastic foams) on the exterior side of the roof
assembly; air - permeable (fibrous) insulation makes up the balance of the
insulating value.
