British Airways has some great
business class fare sales right now for travel this fall / winter to major European cities if you book today or tomorrow.
If you wait for
a business class fare sale and book with Chase points, there's a chance that you'll ues less points with Chase than you would with an airline mileage ticket, and a ticket booked with Ultimate Rewards comes with all the same benefits of booking a revenue ticket.

Look for
fare sales (the mileage run forum on FlyerTalk is a good resource) and keep in mind that many airlines also put
business - and first -
class seats on
sale and such
fares will typically earn a premium of at least 50 % in status points.
Business Class fares on United's Star Alliance partners are more expensive (140,000 miles for a roundtrip booking) so to book one of those with miles bought in this
sale would cost $ 3,150.
British Airways also has a nice
business class sale going on with
fares from east coast cities at just under $ 2,000, but it's a two - for - one
sale.
(Recall that BA offered another fantastic
business class sale just a few weeks ago, with
fares as low as $ 2,000 roundtrip for 2016 flights.)
Europeans frequently have access to transatlantic
Business Class sales where the
fares are well under $ 2,000 roundtrip (like here and here), so why would anybody pay over $ 3,400 for 115,000 miles in a
sale like this one to buy a
Business Class award ticket?
The British Airways Black Friday
sale doesn't end with
Business Class fares to the US and the Middle East.
Just two weeks ago there was a great
sale by Delta / Air France / KLM in which you could purchase
Business Class fares across the Atlantic (from numerous US cities) for under $ 1,600 and, alongside those
fares, I showed how you could fly, in
Business Class, from San Francisco to Europe for under $ 1,100 on British Airways.
That round trip
Business Class fare cost me around $ 1,100 (which converted to $ 1,284.83 when I paid for it with my Platinum Amex) and it happens to be one of the
fares I used as an example when I promoted the Qatar Airways
sale.
Recently Qatar Airways had a fantastic
Business Class companion
fare sale which, in its last few days, ended up offering great
Business Class fares for solo travelers too.
This
Business Class fare appears to be just a very well discounted
fare rather than a
sale fare so there's no pre-set end date telling us when it will disappear — it could be around for some time or disappear overnight.

Outside of good
fare sales the cost of
Business Class flights from the US to Europe can easily exceed $ 3,000 dollars (or even $ 4,000) so, if you happen to need to travel at a time when those are the going rates, using points from this promotion can be a money saver.
The
Business Class deals aren't that impressive as, if you double up the costs to get the price for a roundtrip, the final cost of the awards isn't too dissimilar to a lot of
Business Class cash
fares offered by airlines when the
sales are on — and with cash
fares you often have a greater choice of dates and you earn miles as well.
I've started to see more and more good transatlantic
Business Class fares in past few weeks with
fares to Chicago from $ 1,680,
fares to Vegas from around $ 1,620, a great
sale out of Prague which saw flight prices as low as $ 1,346 and, of course, the amazingly low
fares I posted yesterday.
From the West Coast, just wait for a good
fare sale when
business class can be purchased at a discount.

This week both Philippine carriers announced big
sales — Philippine Airlines has an anniversary
sale with low
fares for domestic, international and
business class fares.
SWISS has launched a fantastic
fare sale for First and

fare at the airport on a first - come, first - served basis for $ 69 and up per flight segment (that's one take off and one landing), or from higher economy

sale at $ 12 to $ 199 if bought in advance or $ 25 to $ 75 for onboard upgrades, depending on flight length.
