As I often suggest travelers take «positioning
flights» around Europe (and the US) to make the most of any great
Business Class fares that come around or to make the most of award availability that appears somewhere that isn't your home airport, I thought I'd share my experience of

Promotions such as these are great ways to boost your miles & points balances and, even though travel in Economy
Class doesn't earn anywhere near the amount of miles that a

I don't have to give up the great American Airlines 777 - 300
Business Class seat as I can always book American Airlines
flights via British Airways — the best of both worlds
150,000 miles is A LOT of miles, but don't worry, you can use these miles to fly round trip businss
class to Europe on United or partners or just about anywhere in Asia on United
flights or be just 10,000 miles short of a partner redemption to Asia in
business class!
As far as
Business Class flights go (Upper
Class and Club World), you generally need fewer Flying Club miles than you
do Avios and that can make Virgin and attractive proposition.
In just 3 instances (out of 24)
do you need the same number of Avios as you
do AAdvantage Miles to redeem the
Business Class reward
flight.
The new upgrade rules come into effect for bookings from 1 June so, if you're looking to upgrade a
flight from Economy to
Business Class you have about two weeks left to
do so.
Delta's
Business Class cabin (Delta One) is old and, although I actually enjoyed my
flight between NYC and Madrid, the hard product doesn't come close to what you get on American Airlines (for example).
As a general rule, the best ways to redeem your Delta SkyMiles are for short
flights in the U.S. for as little as 5,000 miles; for international partner bookings in premium cabins, like Air France
business class to Europe; or for bookings between zones that don't include the U.S., such as Japan to Australia on Air New Zealand.
