There is some great news coming from HP and the company seems to be in the process of bolstering its presence in
the business tablet segment.

Those declines are all the more troubling because they are caused not only by B&N's shrinking retail
business — down 10 % for the quarter and 5.9 % for the full year — but also by the
segment that is supposed to provide a ray of hope: its
tablet and e-book
business, Nook.
While this is yet to be accorded the official status from RIM, pure
business sense does point out it would let RIM have better control over the
tablet market with two products in two different size
segments.
Amazon is up against the likes of Apple and Samsung both of which has a thriving smartphone and
tablet business (though it should be mentioned Apple at this moment is far ahead of Samsung in the
tablet segment).
Swiss company Logitech intends on focusing on the

business in keyboards and mice, which traditionally have been a staple point of the company.

This is their first step by reaching out to the emerging
tablet segment with their seminal
business software.
The
tablet though is aimed primarily at the
business segment but it does impress with its spec sheet.
As such, it is hardly surprising that Apple will go for the kill by trying to make its
tablet offerings more palatable to the
business segment after having already enticed the general users with its iPad and iPad Mini range.

segment, so that what seems evident is that the next major push at
tablet sales is expected to come from the enterprise
business users.
As such, what can be said with a fair degree of surety is that we are on the verge of seeing a huge influx of
tablet devices in the
business segment; and that the majority of them will be the Apple iPad.
In the meantime, the Android
tablet market as a whole doesn't really seem to have experienced any worthwhile growth in 2017, and on the most part, the budget - friendly
segment where slates like the Amazon Fire series reside continues to be the more successful part of the
business.
So while there has been a maturation of the
tablet segment along with gradual segmentation of the
tablet market to some extent with some distinct categories coming up like those of
business or children oriented
tablet, the market itself has grown manifold with a lot more players joining in almost every other day.
In fact, the
tablet is keenly looked forward to irrespective of the fact that the PlayBook is built for use primarily for the
business segment.
Dell has already come up with its Streak, and several of the big wigs in the
business like Motorola and Research in Motion also announced that they are readying suitable devices for the
tablet segment.
«An enterprise - ready
tablet will be announced soon,» is all that the company had to say about its future plans for the booming
tablet segment, which is projected to generate more
business than other forms of computing.
This does not come as a surprise as LG has been floundering in the smartphone
segment and the same applies to its
tablet business as well.
The
business community has been slow in making the
tablet PC an inherent part of the
business, but the next wave of
tablet sales push is likely to be from the
business segment.
