We've tried different variations,
but I think our trusted go - to is our berry spinach
smoothie, although the tropical
kale is pretty amazing!
I don't think I have used purple
kale in juices before,
but I love it in
smoothies.
My brother will barely eat a veggie,
but he adds a generous handful of baby spinach and / or
kale to his pre-workout
smoothie every morning to ensure he gets some veggies in his diet.
I've played around with using
kale instead,
but I've found that if I have even a liiiiiittle too much
kale, it gives my
smoothie a bitter taste and I don't enjoy it at all.
But, I also freeze my vegetable scraps to make broth, mill my own flours and even save my
kale stems for
smoothies!

I've found that I don't have a problem consuming raw
kale a few times a week,
but if you're more sensitive to it, I recommend lightly steaming or sauteing it (then letting it cool) before making this salad, baking your
kale chips (as opposed to dehydrating them), and avoiding juicing it or adding it to
smoothies raw.
Obviously not quite as healthy as eating
kale raw, say for example in a
smoothie,
but definitely way better than deep fried potatoes!
