bonus levels of their current sale.
For the fourth quarter, hotel,
airline, Best
Buy and Kohl's purchases are eligible for the
bonus rewards.
You also can get free seat upgrades — hello, extra legroom — and a higher rewards rate, including a
bonus when you
buy the flight with the
airline rewards card.
When an
airline offers
bonus miles for traveling on a certain route, he doesn't just
buy himself a ticket, he pays for other people to fly as long as they agree to let him use their miles.

Alaska
Airlines is giving a
bonus that is tied to how many miles you
buy.
Not only can you
buy airfare from any
airline through the ThankYou Travel Center, but you'll get an impressive 60 percent
bonus points on American flights and a 33 percent
bonus on all other
airlines.
That means if you use a credit card that offers
bonus miles for
airline purchases, you won't receive the
bonus when purchasing miles since you technically aren't
buying them directly from the
airline.
Buying or sharing points is not the best value proposition, but when an
airline offers to throw in some
bonus miles, it could make sense if you're close to having enough miles to spend on an award ticket.
It appears American
Airlines is also having a spring promotion for
buying / gifting miles with up to a 75 %
bonus depending on how many miles you purchase.
From May 14 to June 12, 2015, you can earn up to 50,000
bonus miles when you
buy AAdvantage miles from American
Airlines.
There are a few restrictions so you can't earn the
bonus simply
buy buying gift cards or points directly from the
airline.
As with most American
Airline «
buy miles & get a
bonus» offer the current promotion is tiered... although this one is strongly weighted in favour of those purchasing the maximum amount of miles allowed.
Note: American
Airlines processes its own miles sales so, if you do
buy miles, make sure you use a credit card that gives an
airline or travel category
bonus — don't leave miles / points on the table.
But often
airlines offer promotions, such as «
buy 10,000 miles, get a 25 %
bonus.»
Some of the most lucrative promotions over the past few months have included
bonuses for
buying miles from
airlines like US Airways and Avianca.
British Airways handles its own Avios purchases so be sure to use a credit card that offers a
bonus for
airline / travel purchases if you do decide to
buy some Avios.

It would definitely be a gamble to
buy points in a sale like this and to then hope for a juicy transfer

buy and transfer transactions are all processed directly by Avianca — meaning your miles or transfer purchase will qualify for the travel or airfare
bonus categories on the credit card you use to pay.
You get
bonus points / miles, the retailer gets additional business, the
airline gets revenue from selling points / miles to the portal and the portal gets a cut from the retailer that (hopefully) more than covers the expense of
buying the points / miles in the first place.
These 50,000
bonus miles let you redeem $ 500 on any of your travel purchases (you can
buy your travel tickets from any website or any travel agency and on any
airline), or you can use them to redeem for other rewards such as merchandise or gift cards.
