The good news is this:
Buying from
ethical brands isn't the only way to «green - ify» your closet and help your cause.
Since that day in February 2014, I haven't
bought anything that's not from a thrift store, created in the United States, or made responsibly elsewhere (sourced from reliable blogs, from
brands whose founder I know, or endorsed by
ethical fashion websites).
So, I'm taking a step back to heed a warning:
buying from the
brands I cover when you don't need clothes — or worse, when you won't actually wear them — defeats the purpose of
ethical fashion.
Though, I love her fabrics and her
ethical business practices, I felt you had to be a real adult to
buy her
brand (something I rarely feel like!).

buy one from an

This is something which I think presents a real dilemma for promoting
ethical fashion and blogging about it — I really love showcasing
brands which are making a difference, but is
buying from them if I don't need it just being hypocritical?
It's so hard to financially and emotionally want to
buy into and champion
ethical brands and feel like you're still on the outside looking in.
I actively try to ensure that I
buy all of my clothes from
ethical and sustainable
brands, so today I am going to ask and answer the question, #whomademyclothes?
I like to try and strike a balance between making good use and getting the most wear out of the clothes I
buy, be they new from
ethical and sustainable
brands or second hand.
