I
buy nuts already ground / chopped, seeds can be crushed in a pestle and mortar, and with dates (or
other dried fruit) they can be chopped small, gently heated in a pan with a splash of water, and then they're soft enough for a stick blender!
It's a good way to keep baking powder fresh, however I think it's because a lot of people don't bake at home — in France, bags of sugar and flour are much smaller than they are in the states (in the US, there are huge bags of
nuts, flours, sugars, and
other baking ingredients in supermarkets)- which I think is because there are so many bakeries (and in cities like Paris, kitchens are tiny) and lots of people
buy their baked goods rather than make them.

buy but it's so hard to find sweet flavours (
other than honey roasted).

You can of course make these oats with store -
bought nut milk, or with homemade
nut milk made with any
other nuts or seeds.
It's worthwhile also
buying one or two quarter - sized sheets for toasting
nuts, and
other small batches of baked goods and roasted veg.
Going through with it and doing a little calculation proved me wrong though - in fact, if you
buy your
nuts in bulk, as I do, you can make your own almond milk for less money than the
bought stuff, and the
nut pulp needn't be wasted but is a bonus that you can use in
other kitchen creations.
And we loved
buying lots of

In fact, the Center for Science in the Public Interest, or CSPI, has published a post about how Beech
Nut is doing the right thing in telling consumers exactly what they're
buying, and that
other manufacturers should follow suit.
I would not recommend this if you
buy a lot of bulk
nuts or
other small items but it works great for larger things like apples, tomatoes, and avocados.

Although I don't blog... I've been baking with Almond and Coconut flour for a very long time now... I
buy all my almond flour from Honeyville... (like you, not paid to say so) and Coconut flour from Tropical Traditions or Honeyville (again, not paid to say so...) I like the fineness of their
nut flours, which produces a lighter product far superior to most
other brands... I'm also sugar and gluten free...
Keep a few containers of healthy snacks like additive and MSG free jerky (here's the one I
buy) and
nuts with you in the car for when the family is ravenous and tempted by the drive thru or
other unhealthy snacks.

buy and use a high quality pre-made granola or to make a fresh muesli by chopping up

other unprocessed foods in their whole natural state, you can be certain to avoid all of the worst things that plague our food supply.
(sadly for my budget, the best
nut for me is macadamia, closely followed by brazil and walnut... on the
other hand, for me it really is food, not an extra, so I say, ok, I'm not
buying a + b + c + d + e, I can allow myself some x + y.) But yes, time, and persistence, will absolutely get you there.

buy all your arguments in favor of low carb, adequate protein, high fat diet, and think that too much protein keep sending me back to oatmeal, but can you please help me with no - protein no - carb snack ideas

I must say I haven't tried cashew butter, but pretty much every

nut butter under the sun.
Ideally, I always
buy nuts in their raw state, so I can capitalize on their versatility — whether making
nut milk with raw
nuts, or toasting them for
other recipes.
Commercially prepared and store -
bought smoothies often contain added sugar, honey or
other sweeteners, protein powder that's often sweetened, or milk, yogurt,
nut butters and
other ingredients that make them more filling — and more palatable — but also add calories.
