Elance - oDesk from September 1 — September 10, 2014, among 1,039 Millennials (21 — 32 years old) and 200 hiring managers (33 + years old).
One (not entirely unfair) way to categorize the two sites was that oDesk catered to the cheaper end of the market, whereas
eLance was often more expensive and
by implication, the quality of freelancers was higher (although not always the case).

Elance make their money
by charging the freelancer a percent of your payment, but it's always free on our end (posting jobs).
They were done entirely
