This issue is exacerbated
by the lack of character development in the script.

Unfortunately the show is just kinda dumb after that... the scripted dialogue ranges from generic to awful; the
characters are pantomimes, you know exactly whether they're good or bad right up front, and the show
lacks any sort
of organic
development or growth, you just don't get into it like you would on a better created and wriiten show.everything is so predictable that
by the time big jim kills his nth person it's just sort
of «meh whatever» time.
Certainly tears are part
of the grieving / healing / accepting process, but tear - jerking
by filmmakers is not enough to make up for deficiencies elsewhere, any more than an abundance
of terrific action choreography makes up for a
lack of character development in a martial arts movie.
While «Dunkirk» undeniably
lacks strong
character development, it does accomplish its chosen goal: to make us feel as if we are caught in the crosshairs
of war, with the seconds ticking
by while the bullets whiz past.
More then likely it is the
lack of character development, which has been replaced
by plot
development.
