Lora Reynolds Gallery presents until March the group exhibition «Obras», with sculptures and installations by nine contemporary Brazilian artists, including Marcius Galan, Rodrigo Matheus, Ana Mazzei, and Erika Verzutti.

With Brazilian galleries presenting poema / processo protagonists Falves Silva and Almandrade (at Roberto Alban from Salvador da Bahia), artist books by Lygia Clark (Livro Obra i, 1964/83 at DAN galleria, São Paulo), and cut paper works by Raymundo Colares (GIBI, 1970 at Pinakotheke, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Fortaleza), Roth's work may gain new significance in discussions of European and Brazilian geometric abstraction.

Yet her latest exhibition, «Obras,» sidesteps much of the preciousness and vacuity of this vogue by turning it toward a history of blanked - out spaces.

Entitled Obra Sonora (or «Sound Work» in Spanish), the exhibition takes sound as its primary medium, featuring four acoustic installations by the artist, two of which will be shown for the first time.
