Environmental factors similar to those affecting the present day Great Barrier Reef have been
linked to a major slowdown in its growth eight thousand years ago, research led
by the University of Sydney shows.
However, relevant questions
linking tropical cyclones and lightning in the inner core remain: Considering the limitations of lightning data, the importance of
environmental factors, and the changing climate, how significant is the information provided
by episodic discharges in the inner core for forecasting the intensity change?
