An analysis of the combined
effects of solar activity and Tiangong - 1's
orbital speed, direction, and altitude, as well as other factors, helps the Aerospace Corporation provide its latest
by - the - minute deorbit estimates.
This separation is essential for the study of gravity because the
effect of gravitational radiation — the steady conversion of
orbital velocity to gravitational waves as predicted
by Einstein — is incredibly small and would have negligible impact on the orbit of the pulsar.
The
effect of these small
orbital changes was amplified
by positive feedbacks, such as changes in greenhouse gas levels.
Creating the ability to more quickly and accurately forecast space weather would give satellite operations teams, space programs and others technologies that rely on assets in Earth's space environment the ability to reposition satellites and / or shut down noncritical components as well as defer critical operations — such as uploading new software or
orbital maneuvers — that might be adversely affected
by storm
effects, such as increased penetrating radiation.
These climate shifts, the theory went, were caused
by the combined
effects of three cycles: A wobble in Earth's axis repeating every 25,700 years, on average, and
orbital shifts repeating every 109,000 years and every 405,000 years, respectively.
Scientists knew about the warming
effects of greenhouse gases, but proponents of global cooling argued that greenhouse warming would be more than offset
by Earth's
orbital changes.
Moreover, the team discovered that the spin
effect is governed
by the direction of electron
orbitals, which can be viewed as «hidden degrees of freedom» in molecules.
This may help explain some of the changes that are not explained
by the
orbital curves in the other thread, especially the initiation of warming and cooling since the GCR
effects can be much more powerful (partly forcing as postulated in the paper, but also amplification of the weaker
orbital forcing).
In March 2014, a Nature article
by astronomers Chad Trujillo and Scott Sheppard noted that some of the most distant Kuiper Belt objects had unusual
orbital alignments and suggested that
effect was caused
by gravity from a small planet.
Central position of the globe was achieved and maintained
by retrobulbar injection of sterile saline caudal to the
orbital ligament (volume to
effect).
Raymo and Paillard have a good story about the 100KYr cycle arising from the modulation of the precessional cycle
by the changes in the Earth's
orbital eccentricity, coupled with some glacial dynamical
effects which «rectify» the high frequency precessional signal.
The resulting increased / decreased ice is amplified
by «various feedbacks, including ice - albedo, dust, vegetation and, of course, the carbon cycle which amplify the direct
effects of the
orbital changes.»
I was thinking instead perhaps more easily controlled polar - orbit satellites might be used, which would rotate with some fixed ratio to their
orbital period, casting greater shadows at higher latitudes... or some other arrangment... for a targetted offset polar amplification of AGW especially and in particular perhaps avoiding the reduction in precipitation that can be caused
by SW - radiation - based «GE» (although aerosols that actually absorb some SW in the troposphere while shielding the surface would have the worst
effect in that way, I'd think)... strategic distribution of solar shading has been suggested with precipitation
effects in mind, such as here... sorry, I don't have the link (I'm sure I saved it, just as Steve Fish would suggest — but where?).
So, I tend to believe the new results, they confirm what has been shown
by several other studies — human - caused CO2 has a large enough
effect lasting long enough that it will greatly affect the natural ice - age cycling — but I'll listen to Peter, Andre and the others with great interest, and I don't think this is the last word on exactly what CO2 level is needed for exactly what
orbital configuration for ice - age initiation.
I can't find a single person who will affirm that all the
effects within a 24 hour day, including massive temperature fluctuations between day and night, is due to one rotation of the planet and that these days never, ever fall out of step with rotations. The ideology which contemporaries have inherited from the late 17th century is that the Earth's rotation falls out of step with 24 hour days to the tune of 4 extra rotations in 4 years
by virtue of an utterly stupid idea that the planet's daily and
orbital motions can be modeled directly from a rotating celestial sphere of Ra / Dec observing.
The
orbital decay
effect was discovered
by Wentz around 1997 which induced a spurious cooling
effect on one of our microwave satellite products (lower troposphere) but not the others.
In the case of the 100 kyr ice age cycles, that forcing is high northern latitude summer insolation driven
by predictable changes in Earth's
orbital and rotational parameters — aka, Milankovitch theory — which has the intial
effect of melting glaciers, thereby reducing albedo at those latitudes.
RSS pointed out a significant error in UAH's temperature analysis caused
by a failure to accurately correct for the
effects of
orbital decay on observations across multiple satellites.
Evidently when
orbital effects served as a pacemaker, it was
by adjusting the timing of greater forces working through their own complex cycles.
By contrast, the inclusion in the Historical simulation forcing values of Snow Albedo BC forcing does not cause a bias since its
effects on GMST and heat uptake are reflected in the Historical simulations; likewise for the trivially small (< 0.0025 W / m2)
orbital forcing.
This may help explain some of the changes that are not explained
