The Tottenham striker was helped little by being otherwise isolated
by the slow play of his teammates and the lack of anyone to play off him — Rooney was often 50 yards behind him and Lallana and Sterling played on the flanks — but there was a definite sluggishness to Kane's play.

But he is one of the best off the ball runner that we have — opponents does not want to

Up front we have a few world - class players surrounded
by some serious pretenders... Sanchez is
by far the most accomplished player in our attack but the controversy surrounding his contractual mishandling could see him go before the window closes or most definitely
by season's end... obviously a mistake
by both parties involved, as Sanchez's exploits have never been more on display than in North London, but the club's irresponsible wage structure and lack of real intent have been the real undoing in this mess... Lacazette, who I think has some world - class skills as a front man, will only be as good as the players and system around him, which is troubling due to our current roster and Wenger's love of sideways passing... Walcott should have been sold years ago, enough said, and Welbeck should never have been brought in from the get - go... both of these players have suffered numerous injuries over their respective careers and neither are good enough to overcome such difficulties: not to mention, they both are below average first - touch players, which should be the baseline test for any player coming to a Wenger - led Arsenal team... Perez should have been
played wide left or never purchased at all; what a huge waste of time and money, which is ridiculous considering our penny pinching ways and the fact that fans had been clamoring for a real striker for years... finally Giroud, the fact that he stills wears the jersey is a direct indictment of this club's failure to get things right... this isn't necessarily an attack on Giroud because I think he has some highly valued skills, but not for a team that has struggled to take their sideways soccer to the next level, as his presence
slows their game even more, combined with our average, at best, finishing skills... far too often those in charge have either settled or chosen half - measures and ultimately it is us that suffer because no matter what happens Wenger, Gazidis and Kroenke will always make more money whereas we will always be the ones paying for their mistakes... so every time someone suggests we should just shut - up and support the team just think of all the sacrifices you've made along the way and simply reply... f *** off
Let's face it goalkeepers tend to march to the beat of a different drum and Szczesny certainly fell into that category, but most of his antics were relatively harmless and simply reflected a certain level of immaturity that isn't uncommon for someone thrust into the limelight at such a young age... lord knows we've seen that happen with numerous players throughout the years and very few were ever banished for such behaviour... the only on - field action that drove me crazy was his inability to take a deep breath and not try to rush the

slowing things down... the fact that he continued to do this probably had a lot to do with the glaring lack of coaching time spent with the goalkeepers... ultimately he made the fateful decision to take his frustrations out into the public sphere and paid dearly for it... in the end, his services were wanted
by several of the best Italian squads, which is significant considering the historical importance placed on the defensive side of the ball in Serie A... all I know is that if someone asked me to pick the most athletically gifted goalkeeper we have had in our squad since the arrival of Wenger, without hesitation, he would be my pick and for that reason his departure is more than a little disappointing... what else is new though
@josh... And before you troll my comment...
By saying we need a versatile defender, I mean one who could
play L.B as gibbs n monreal can't go a season without an injury... Mert is aging, wenger haven't

slow and sometimes woeful at R.B, Kos is Top class but he needs proper handling, debuchy have been getting frequently injured lately, Bellerin can't do it all alone, that leaves us with gabriel who's only just arrived and is getting used to the league....

This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of
play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced
by a less than stellar «plug and
play» mentality where players
play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance
play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted
play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was
playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched
played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too
slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball
play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he
played with Coq Wenger always seemed to
play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted
by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been
played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed
by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too
slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
After
slow starts to the season both sides have put together a run of impressive results to climb into the
play off places and are separated
by a just a single point.
Agreed, nice to see the ball being
played forward in attacking way, Gibbs
slows it down
by passing back, plus his closing down is poor Monreal and Bellerin really have made the difference.
watching my team against Ireland yesterday even tough we won i wasn, t impressedit, we only start
playing with purpose when we go behind and when we, re in front we
slow down our
play, i thought koscielny had a decent game with a couple of good clearance and his job was made more difficult
by adil rami who is a burden on the team and always one mistake away, giroud can, t be blamed for his first half performance the guy was starved of any service and it, s only when griezman was moved to his favourite position that giroud started making the difference what a great assist,
by the way shane long dived for the penalty but that, s ok we are square now with the irish we had henry, s handball & they had the penalty!!
By then Hart had already traded for Mark Carreon, a righthanded bat with pop, and dealt Murray, who carries a chip on his shoulder toward the press and, more important, who, Cleveland scouts decided, had a
slow bat and couldn't
play first base even on a part - time basis.
That way there would be more urgency in his game not in midfield where he
slows down our attacking
play by having to turn 360 degrees every time he has the ball before passing backwards or sideways.
I'd
play him in midfield with jack he reminds me Micheal Thomas we have bring sead kolosinic back in or even put him right back cause bellerin has being nothing short of disastrous in every way I like him as a man but my god he has not pushed on and I must say Cech looks so old and sluggish like last nite when Hernandez hit cross bar Cech looked so
slow reactions gone we need keeper and I think Forster be great for us da guy at Southampton I think ozil will stay he's trying a lot more so would I to get 280 thousand weekly and Sanchez won't go cause not that he wants stay but he's form is very worrying hard take 3 weeks ago I looked at table and said we'll finish above spuds
by ten points and in top 4 easily now we're behind them we have no consistency and manager that's just too old I love wenger always will but it's time and I think artery would be great choice for manager he meant be great coach maybe he's the one get Man City so great after all he loves arsenal maybe it's wenger plan go learn from pep and come bk when I leave take over and mersaker as he's no2 arteta and bfg take us forward and hand picked
by wenger conspiracy theory begins
This season, our marketwatch selections have gotten off to a
slow start, but the contrarian approach has been highly effective as evidenced
by our 37 - 25 combined record Against the Spread (ATS) with square
plays and best bets.
we can start
by: switching back to 4231 not
playing Ozil on wings using Campbell, Rosicky more instead of making them rot on the bench while we
play slow passes sub earlier if needed buy a CDM in january Get Walcott back
The
slow tempo of our
play in particular was picked up
by the pundit and it was very noticeable how much quicker we passed the ball around once the second Watford goal went in.
WEAKNESSES: Adequate height / length, but lean - framed with a slender, unimpressive build... marginal
play strength and allows physical defensive backs to
slow his route and disrupt the timing... struggles to gain body position downfield... lacks the body power to force his way through tackle attempts... tends to get alligator arms on in - breaking routes as footsteps hurt his concentration... underpowered blocker... body isn't constructed for routine punishment — hampered
by a left ankle injury (Nov. 2017) down the stretch... production dropped in 2017 without John Ross drawing attention on the other side of the formation.
Positives Our defence has a leader with wealth of experience Creativity in abundance Ramsey still has licence to make late runs to the box Xhaka and wilshere both
play 6s taking turns to hold and doing the dirty work Sanchez and Ozil switching wings havoc through crossing or cutting inside Lacazette being provided for Giroud our option from the bench Negatives Ozil
playing as a winger wouldn't defend (mustafi will provide cover as he wouldn't overlap as much as bellerin) No Giroud Lacazette dynamic combination (would still happen
by subbing wilshere caution for injuries Ramsey moves to 8 lacazette
plays behind Giroud)
Slow and aging metserker (makes up for with football brain and also pacy wing backs) No outright cdm (wouldn't need one as no overlapping wing backs to cover as creativity is enough ufront would concentrate on defending
We have to
play in a
slower tempo going forward and
by the time we are in the final 3rd the opponents defense is all set up.
It likely
slowed him a bit, but you can see multiple
plays on tape where he has excellent get - off in 2016 & 2017 when he was allowed to be an attacking Edge rusher
by his coach.
The Nats were favorites in 2015 before a
slow, injury - filled season
by players not named Bryce Harper kept them out of the postseason, and the Orioles might just have the lineup to keep them in the playoff race all season — we could be seeing an early preview of 2016
play out in these first weeks of the season.
Right now the only weak link in this team is BFG... when will he dropped to benched... everybody knows that he is too
slow and everyone exploit that in every single game... but still he keeps on starting the game... i never feel secure with him especially when we are attacking and
play high line... If I was gabriel I would be fuming from inside... cause gabriel is so much better than him but still BFG starts while gabriel always start from the bench... We have enough warnings
by now, surely we are not waiting for a Monoco like game... and then start blaming him... Gabriel has to start, the guy got lot to offer... his mentality his attitude his passion, fire in the belly this guy has to start... and he also can be the leader that this team so badly crying for years now...
All I could see was the ref and Gabby being surrounded
by chelsea players and just a few arsenal players ozil, Sanchez, Walcott and Ramsey were very
slow to react to the incident, just a glimpse of caz and coq, moreal looks like he was looking for pity from a biase ref and kos didn't
play his part well.
By the time Louis van Gaal's team
plays they could be already out of the Champions League, with City showing no signs of

Again, I do not like the contact to the head
by Stone, and I do think the foul was the right call, but in viewing the replays in real - time (not in super
slow motion), I can not separate Stone's actions from Hayes pushing him in the back, it's a bang - bang
play.
He is very
slow on the ball and
by the time he
plays a forward pass, our opposition usually has the bus parked.
Finally it went for Arsenal, I think first half was very tense, level, nervous, full of tackles, like a bird on a wire, I would say, I agree that Teves caused much trouble over the right side, I don't know who
played there for Arsenal, it looked sometimes as if the Arsenal player had been a bit too
slow for Tevez, agree that Fabiansky had a great game, (you always need some fortune for it) and Nasri, he impresses really since some games now, clinical finishing and one of those who are finishing at all, Faby wasn't at his best and nevertheless he was so important, there were several decisive moments, at the start a save
by Fabiansky (and later on some more), the red card, Nasri's goal, after the missed penalty I feared City would take advantage of it, but I think Songs goal broke their mentality, and second half at least the final thirty minutes were rel.
However I was disappointed
by how
slow we were out of the blocks (a common feature of last season) and it only seemed a matter of time before we went behind to a City side, who, going forward were
playing some breathtaking stuff.
