recipe is inspired
by the Olive Garden dish of the same name, and it's one of my favorite dishes
to order there (you know, when I actually want something other than just bread
sticks and alfredo dipping sauce, because I can totally make a meal out of that).
When in doubt,
stick to the leavening rule:
recipes that rely on neutral - pH baking powder for leavening are best with similarly neutral pH Dutch process cocoa; those that are leavened
by baking soda should
stick to natural cocoa powder.
But I think it's worth your while
to try replacing the butter with Earth Balance buttery
sticks, the milk with unsweetened almond milk, and the cheese with my favorite
recipe for meltable vegan mozzarella
