of the chronic evil seemingly inseparably associated with mankind has displayed several
of its colossal dimensions among peoples who have called themselves Christian, but that repeatedly efforts to counter this evil, some
of them at least partly successful, have been put forth
by men and

These references depict a society still in touch with its roots, old men and old
women renewed in the shade
of Jesse's ancient stock, their old frames, matured
by godly fear and

And finally, I notice that the controversies raised
by the
women's movement are disturbing and spiritually unnerving the
faith of many church people.
Any man or
woman who is willing to expose himself to the truth
of the Christian
faith in the life
of the Christian community, nourished
by the worship
of Christian people, will discover that the truth becomes true for him.

by saints and scholars, but which is based upon the gospel, whose grounding is in the scriptural record and witness and which therefore can not exist without constant reference to that «deposit»
of God's self - revelation.
