Reach for something fresh this Saint Patrick's Day
by enjoying this
cabbage salad, made with fresh apples, oranges, fennel, and pomegranate.
Inspired
by a recipe in The Complete Tassajara Cookbook, a warm winter
salad made from sauteed shredded red
cabbage.
But I decided to make a
salad out of the combination
by throwing together the
cabbage and beets with chickpeas, watercress, macadamia nuts, sunflower seeds, more lime juice and a drizzle of sunflower seed butter.
While the fish marinates, make the
salad slaw
by tossing the
cabbage and about 1/2 cup chopped cilantro together in a medium bowl.
Coleslaw is a
cabbage salad, but a «Texas coleslaw» applies some heat to this
by adding dry mustard or cayenne pepper.
In the meantime, I'll leave you with a few photos, and this beauty of a
salad inspired
by the much - loved, shredded
cabbage composition found on a good number of menus in the the area surrounding Grant Avenue - green layered on green layered on green.
Prepare the
salad ingredients
by washing the greens and slicing the
cabbage, tomatoes and apples.
By the way, I prepared this
salad maybe 2 - 3 weeks ago — minus lentils — for L., since I had some potatoes and a 1/2 red
cabbage in the fridge, leftovers from other recipes.
