Hi Sheila, there's about 12 mg of caffeine in 1 tablespoon of
cacao powder so each of these contains about 1 mg of caffeine.
I had all of the ingredients on hand except for
the cacao powder so I used my gluten free protein powder instead and they came out great!
Glad you like them I couldn't get my hands on raw
cacao powder so I've used the bog standard cocoa powder you get in any grocery store.

The sweet potatoes do have to be orange and unsweetened cocoa
powder is different to raw
cacao so you would have needed about triple the amount listed in the recipe to get the right flavour!

cacao at my local health food store and made these tonight and they are amazing,

They have turned out lovely and gooey but don't taste the least bit chocolatey, in fact if it wasn't for the faint taste from the laguma
powder, I'm not sure that they would taste of anything at all I now see a comment below recommending doubling the amount of
cacao so I will try that next time.
Cacao powder can be quite rich if you're not used to it,
so you might want to use a little less or add a little more maple to help with the flavour.

cacao powder (arguably more nutritional perks here) or a Dutch - processed alkaline cocoa (our favorite if it's Valrhona).
The other ingredients are dates, almonds, sunflower seeds, cocoa (or
cacao)
powder, vanilla, and sea salt,
so they're totally guilt - free.

Cacao powder is the less - processed version of cocoa
powder so it contains more fiber, protein and monounsaturated fats.
So I tried this recipe with cocoa
powder instead of raw
cacao pwder because I didn't have any, and it didn't taste good... The cocoa taste was way too strong.
Well, except that I only have medium eggs and extra-large eggs,
so I used one of each... and I only had 85 %
cacao dark chocolate, no bittersweet,
so I shorted the sugar a couple of tablespoons... and I added a quarter teaspoon of cinnamon and a quarter teaspoon of instant coffee
powder... none of which I would have expected to have this effect:

cacao powder is a different type of dry ingredient

Yes, it is true... Combine milk, pitted dates, almond butter, and
cacao powder with ice, and you'll have a breakfast or dessert smoothie that is
so filing and good!
I use both carob &
cacao powder 1/3 ripe banana 6 - 7 dates 1/2 C gogi beries 1/4 C
cacao nibs sometimes 1/2 C sunflower seeds, soaked overnight (
so nut free, for those who need to avoid nuts) vanilla, a sprinkle of sea salt the maca would be a great addition!

so I simply made my own, its dead easy — simply combine pure raw
cacao butter (gently melted) with a pinch of celtic salt, a little extract of vanilla and some raw cashew butter, then freeze in a suitable container before breaking into chunks!!!!! yummy You can make dark chocolate chips even easier by melting pure coconut oil and stirring in a little vanilla, honey and raw
cacao powder before freezing!!!
So, I came up with this new combo and, instead of regular cocoa
powder, I used raw
cacao powder.
You need the cocoa butter fat that is in the unsweetened chocolate to make them set,
so cacao powder will not work here unfortunately.
I've always enjoyed the
cacao powder, but I think this recipe is the one I like it in best of all
so far!
The flavours can be a bit strong and earthy for some, but I've worked out that hemp protein works really well with
cacao / carob
powder,
so I add a few tsps of that to a smoothie and it's quite palatable.
It's likely the cake will stick to the bundt pan (no matter how much you oil /
cacao powder it),
so do yourself a favor and bake it in a regular pan (loaf, round, square).
Raw
cacao has a more intense flavor than the processed cocoa
powder,
so even if it's a little more expensive than this one, it sure worthsevery penny.
Once you are done mixing everything, the texture is quite soft and sticky,
so I recommend you to make balls and to roll them in some cocoa or
cacao powder.

so don't add if you are vegan) 5 tsp rum (or water) 4 tbsp single cream (vegan creams work brilliantly!)
One note:
cacao can be stimulating for some people,
so if you're one of those, feel free to make these with cocoa
powder instead.
If you are on a tight budget you could substitute non-raw cocoa
powder from your local grocery store, but this raw
cacao is the good stuff
so use it if you can.
