It surprises and saddens me that so many children aren't given the opportunity to exercise and play anymore, not to mention having to spend almost their entire
lunch period waiting in
line at the
cafeteria.
At one North Side school
cafeteria, «one
line leads to fish nuggets, iceberg lettuce and canned peaches, Another [to] burgers and breaded chicken patty sandwiches, [and] the longest
line to
lunch workers [serving nachos].»
Absolutely, positively yes, say the front -
line cafeteria workers, most of whom refer to themselves as «the
lunch lady.»
I've had
cafeteria workers forbid me from taking pictures of food on the
lunch line itself, with no explanation, and have had school officials watch me like a hawk as I took pictures of the food on children's trays.

lunch, or wants to start a club for kids who question different aspects of gender, or something along those
lines, you may well be raising a progressive kid.
Many students spend a considerable amount of time traveling to the
cafeteria and then waiting in
line to get their
lunch.
