In speakerphone calls and general audio playback, the Galaxy S4's rear - facing speaker is reasonably loud and clear, though it doesn't match the insane volume and quality of the HTC One's BoomSound speaker.

The same controls remain on the right earcup — audio volume, and the multi-function button for incoming calls and accessing Siri.

On a few test calls with my boyfriend, he reported relatively clear audio with good volume.
