That VideoGame Blog recently interviewed Call of Juarez and Chrome developer Techland about their upcoming survival horror game, Dead Island, and we thought we'd get the opinion of someone who's actually working on a gory and violent game that could possibly face similar treatment by some rating organizations.

What sets the original Dead Island apart from other zombie games is the setting, with players having to deal with a zombie apocalypse in a tropical resort called Banoi, mostly in broad daylight.

This brings us to the Dead Island: Definitive Collection, which is a remaster of both Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide that comes with all DLC and patches, plus a new little bonus game called Retro Revenge.

Dying Light might be more serious than Dead Island, but no one would ever call it a «serious» zombie game that could be put in the same category as The Last of Us or The Walking Dead.

The developer Yager Productions, which was set up to make Dead Island 2, was forced to file for bankruptcy shortly after, although Yager as a whole is still going strong and working on a new game called Dreadnought.

Call of Juarez developer Techland has confirmed to G4TV that super-secretive title Dead Island has yet to shuffle off this mortal coil and, despite continued radio silence from the developer regarding the game, is actually «doing great.»
