called Outcast, a YA novel that's selling extremely well.
Now he's following it up with an intense looking series
called Outcast.
But Jesus claimed that he had come to
call outcasts rather than the righteous.

Marginal, nasty little
outcasts one minute and destroyers of worlds the next, you could almost violate our last respectable taboo and
call them our Hitlers.

Liberation theology looks to the words of Jesus in Luke 4 where he describes his
call to ministry (echoing the words of the ancient prophet Isaiah) and at the ways that he included many of the
outcast (women, Samaritans, tax collectors, etc.) in his ministry and parable.

call always was «Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!»

We are
called to partner with our God as He
calls the lost home and invites the
outcast to be His children; we are invited to join Him as He searches for His sheep on college campuses, in offices, on the streets and, yes, at the Grammys.
The shepherds were considered by most to be dirty,
outcast thieves, and while the wise men from the East are often
called «Kings» (though they were likely not kings at all), most people in Israel would have considered them to be religiously unclean, astrology - practicing, sinful foreigners.
In the middle of that crowd — which likely would have included more than a fair share of holy or influential or important or preferred or religious people — Jesus heads right for that tree and
calls out to that guy — the one who is a social and religious
outcast, ridiculously perched up in the branches — to come on down because Jesus wants to go to that guy's house for supper.

call untouchables,

outcasts for two days; — He acknowledges the five «marriages» of the Samaritan woman as «marriages»... and then remarks about her current co-habitation... but then moves to higher priorities; — He seems so very focused on internal holiness and not on external holiness; — He violates the Sabbath; He says He is Lord of the Sabbath; He even says that the Sabbath was created to assist man, rather than man created to serve the Sabbath... thus turning the entire concept of the Law into one of assistance rather than being chained to obedience; — He insists on impartiality in the way we bless others, even if we
call them «evil» or «good».
Sure we don't go to wells to do our socializing (i.e. gossiping) and yes she was there during the heat of the afternoon because she was somewhat of an
outcast and alone in her world of many husbands and no she probably didn't have a good relationship with the women at the quilting bee yet she was the one in Samaria who was tuned in and ready when her Messiah
called her number.
The prophets
called for a continual widening of what it means to be a community of hope, and they did so by refusing to allow any forgetting of the poor and
outcasts.
