A disease
called peripheral artery disease, or PAD, causes blockages in your lower limbs preventing normal blood flow.
They focused on three different types of PVD: arterial disease in the lower extremities,
called peripheral artery disease; carotid artery stenosis, which is blockage in the carotid arteries, the major blood vessels in the neck that supply blood to the brain, neck and face; and abdominal aortic aneurysm, an enlargement of the lower aorta, the major blood vessel that supplies blood to the body.
