animal control officer, Orange County Deputy Sheriff Jeff Brown never
came close to killing an
animal.But Sunday afternoon, faced with no alternative, he shot and killed a 100 - pound German shepherd dog that was attacking him and six other deputies and firefighters answering a call reported
as an attempted suicide in east Orange.The woman, who deputies and firefighters believed was trying to kill herself, had released the dog so that it would attack, according to sheriff's reports.
