o.t does anybody on here honestly think we might try and make a move for klopp this summer are the board that aggressive enough to make the decision also wenger has not come out straight away to denied that klopp is coming to arsenal he just batted the question away in the press conference yesterday this makes me wonder if wenger is going to sit down with the board and have a chat to see what is the best way forward for the club (maybe moving upstairs to the boardroom so he doesn't have to break his contract) i am sure if certain members of the board saw this as a prime opportunity to move the club forward post wenger we will see what will happen this might be the only chance to get him as we might not be any decent manager around when wenger does retire we would probably end up with martinez instead realistically who do you think we would end up with in 2 yrs time options will be more limited me thinks and we wil have missed the boat better make it count this time coyg
I believe the board will move wenger upstairs this summer but the club needs either a top manager who spend day 100m on 3 players and gets the rest to perform better or a top Manager to completely overhaul the squad but that will take 300m I don't believe the club are willing to spend either, so I think it will be a up and coming manger who will eventually fail.
In all honesty Arsenal played well we had very good position with loads of chances and 13 corner kicks how come we are so crappy at scoring corners???? We need to start scoring the chances we get from corners we could have easily beat southhampton by 4 goals but forster was good he got the 3 points off us MR wenger should go back to the drawing board as he has some options one of witch could the calling of welington silva or a reshuffle bring iwobi in elneny or new methods in tactics as in picking players and rehearse attacks strategy As for the referee I to felt done by him there was on particular foul on sanches that was not giving at the end we need to register our efforts and be clinical
There are so many issues that the memory fades from many of them, however I always thought the Suarez debarcle was one of the worst, Regardless of if Suarez was an «Arsenal Player» or not noone can doubt that he would have scores all of the goals that welbeck, Walcott and Giroud have missed and scored a number on top of that had he played for the AFC, the problem came with the desultory bid of $ 6 million plus a pound, this was always going to get right up the liverpool owners nose and was an insult from the offset in my mind this was done deliberately by Wenger and the board in order to say to the AFC fans that «well we tried to get him but....»
I m pretty sure the board are too scared and ignorant about footbal to sack him but come on if things don t work out, a man has to stand up and correct it.It s obvious he is not up to the task to make Arsanal a real force so he should aknowledge that and say «my time is up, let someone else takes over and try to do better».
Useless article, klopp just fell into the same injury mess as wenger, now take a look at arsenal, and take another look at dortmund, tell me who you want for a coach, wenger can still take us there, hard times come only to make us stronger, i want you to take your banners to the game to stir up the much needed pressure on the board and wenger, i know wenger won't be sacked but it would go a long way like pardews case, imagine a new coach bringing his own new style and tactics that might take time t master, rethink boys, u know what happened to barca when guardiola left, we don't want to do a porchettino, so think twice gooners and don't be carried away by the media or stupidity
Moving on from it all for this season i fear for worst to come next season (just had a deja vu i say the same thing every season around this time) City already are talking spending 600 Million in the next two to three years on new players and you can bet Man - U will follow to try and close the gap, Liverpool can sell one player and buy an entire squad, Chelsea owner Abromovich has started to make noise's about next season so they will be spending, spuds will try to keep their existing players with one or two additions to strengthen and some salary rises to keep the elite, and Arsenal will go head to head with the likes of Burnley Everton Leicester for average players signature, and the board will make sure even if they replace AW they will replace him with AW No2 who will do what the board decides on who and how much to spend
it goes without saying that AW must leave and another coach to come he can stay close to the team as manager or head of board but it is clear that our team is in need for so many years of a defensive midfielder (William Carvalho) and a left back (J Rodriguez) on top of them if we buy Mbappe and this player from Celtic, Dembele i believe our team will be in very good shape as we will have players to cover all spots in good order we can get rid of players such as elneny, gabriel, debuchy, jekinson, lucas, chamberlain, mertezaker, coq and get back jack wilshere who together with ramsey, xhaka, santi they can make a quite productive midfield together with Carvalho watching their backs if we sell ozil, sanchez we can move for 3 more players such as gueye, mahrez and gibson

Yeah that left a rather sour taste in my mouth too, but the reality of the situation was that most of the players who left the club in the past did so because the constant failure to obtain any sort of silverware... As I have said many times before and will say again, Wenger is the «root of all of Arsenals problems»... yes silent Stan and the board are also contributory... but the fact that they have allowed him in excess of 16 million to spend on teenage boys debunks any myth that suggest his hands are tied... You give me 16 million and I'll bring back a world class player and come back with change.

Honestly, paulinho is a disgrace to a midfield that once boasted of xavi deco etc As for the others I don't think details are necessary, the bottom line is that for a board with a sporting director Barca made a huge mistake in allowing lucho sign such players (he wasn't responsible for paulinho but he gave them such ideas), from now on we should keep a group of world class players (like RM), coaches who Believe in our PHILOSOPHY only should come and use these players to give us our football back, valverde is not successful because of messi only, he is successful because the core of this team is a group of the most technically gifted and intelligent players in the world, the board knows this and so do RM, that's why we are chasing players like fdj, deligt, and even alaba, because once this core of la masia talent is gone we would be useless if there are no adequate replacements, this board must continue signing replacements for our core and for once!
The only thing that is disturbed is Wengers Mind.Hindsight is a wonderful thing but seriously the man is a complete nut job.We all saw this coming before the season started so if WE all saw it then so did everyone who runs the club from the idiot himself up to the Board and Owner.I am spitting at Sanchez for going but can he really be blamed.Yeah sure it's about money or he would be at Citeh. He has ended up T Manure on Chinese wages so I suppose him and his agent have exploited the position we let them have to their advantage. The blame is purely on Wengerand upwards) so what on earth is he bleating about?
Emirates stadium and huge sponsor deals we finally have had two poor years by his standards at the helm we always havent been so great and are we weak supporters or strong give him a contract i mean hes won with ants for money let him spend for once cause even if we do get new manager inflation has occured and no body else will win with the small amounts we gave him to spend and in 20 years actuall more it seems the club is finally willing to spend give him a contract let him spend and if we do nt improve which i think we will i think that the club is finally willing to spend shows were on an upturn because as long as top four the owner and board weren't and after we spend big or somewhat big for once and auba and mkhitaryan arent the big im hoping for i want more if liverpoodlians can pay 75million for a cb let wenget spend a bit and if we still do bad we can always sack him or ask him to leave wouldnt be uncommon but we owe it to him and do nt say we do not because emirates london colney that will bring in high talent here for years to come and we have never spent for him just gave little and hes always done big things with little i think he can do bigger things in his final years if we give him big i do nt see us in decline but if we sack him we will be for a good three maybe four years
Like yesterday was as low as it gets for me as fan I didn't even care when Liverpool got 3 rd and fourth goals because we're dead our pride as fans is same as players we're just dead hurt, sad, weak and spineless then it gets better ox is going Chelsea today and now timers sanchez has put in transfer request haha when board said change they meant it change as in we're selling all players and we're going like Aston Villa laugh u mite we are rotten from top to da bottom and it will get better cause I bet by Thursday we will bring in nobody and promote young kids we mite chance van diik he's going for 60 million and by Thursday night sky sports will report arsenal came in with last min bid of 21 million for van diik it got flat out laughed at so at 1 min to 11 we came in again with bid of 27 million and add ons til 2029 its hard and it is only beginning haha ox starts at anfield and was shambles and he is sold today says a lot about wenger if that was me I'd say stay away till ur sold u little traitor thanks ox hope its worth it, loyalty me behind ahwell we still bellerin another little man and heart holding for Barca ahhhh I'm so mad we need Simeon's cum in and start bouncing heads off da canvas Jesus bring bk George graham at least we have defence??
Nobody seems to be mentioning the damaging infighting going on between Wenger and the board, which appears to have lead to players who have performed well on the pitch, being benched for their unfit counterparts, or being put on loan (Joel Campbell, Lukas Perez, Shkodran Mustafi), not only leading to discontent in the squad, and on the pitch, but using millions of the much vaunted player salary limit, which still doesn't make sense to me as how come we were going to increase Ozil, Alexis and Ox's salary by so much?
i personally don, t care, some fans think we should have won the pl i agree this was a good opportunity missed but there are reasons why the other big guns failed this season, maureen lost the dressing room and was fired, man city decided to announce a new manager, united few years ago decided to hire the wrong manager for the club, liverpool decide to succumb to the fans / media pressure and changed manager... it just shows that it all comes down to how a club is run so arsenal should be given credits for running the club the way they do (don, t get me wrong all is not perfect) they could have decided to sack wenger due to pressure but didn, t, wenger despite his flaws & the team going through a difficult patch partly due to injuries managed to keep the players on board and steer us to 2nd place, my point is that winning the pl is not a given right and i truly believe than this time around arsene heard the discontent fans and will make the signings necessary, COYG!!
So do not blame anyone who feels like taking a walk but of course there are sycophants who will criticize those of us who speaks our mind if they are not tired of been the laughing stock of London then we are Wenger and board of directors must go and hungry coach and board of directors should come on board.
It all depends on how the board is shaking out when it comes to pick # 30 but it seems to me that there will be a lot of similarly graded players from 30 to 40 so if vikes can trade back and pick in the early parts of the second round that would be step1.
If the contract really is on the table waiting then it is obvious that the Board are never going to try and force him out against his will, so maybe Arsenal fans should just accept that Le Prof will be in charge for many more years to come, whether we like it or not!
Time for some brutal honesty... this team, as it stands, is in no better position to compete next season than they were 12 months ago, minus the fact that some fans have been easily snowed by the acquisition of Lacazette, the free transfer LB and the release of Sanogo... if you look at the facts carefully you will see a team that still has far more questions than answers... to better show what I mean by this statement I will briefly discuss the current state of affairs on a position - by - position basis... in goal we have 4 potential candidates, but in reality we have only 1 option with any real future and somehow he's the only one we have actively tried to get rid of for years because he and his father were a little too involved on social media and he got caught smoking (funny how people still defend Wiltshire under the same and far worse circumstances)... you would think we would want to keep any goaltender that Juventus had interest in, as they seem to have a pretty good history when it comes to that position... as far as the defenders on our current roster there are only a few individuals whom have the skill and / or youth worthy of our time and / or investment, as such we should get rid of anyone who doesn't meet those simple requirements, which means we should get rid of DeBouchy, Gibbs, Gabriel, Mertz and loan out Chambers to see if last seasons foray with Middlesborough was an anomaly or a prediction of things to come... some fans have lamented wildly about the return of Mertz to the starting lineup due to his FA Cup performance but these sort of pie in the sky meanderings are indicative of what's wrong with this club and it's wishy - washy fan - base... in addition to these moves the club should aggressively pursue the acquisition of dominant and mobile CB to stabilize an all too fragile defensive group that has self - destructed on numerous occasions over the past 5 seasons... moving forward and building on our need to re-establish our once dominant presence throughout the middle of the park we need to target a CDM then do whatever it takes to get that player into the fold without any of the usual nickel and diming we have become famous for (this kind of ruthless haggling has cost us numerous special players and certainly can't help make the player in question feel good about the way their future potential employer feels about them)... in order for us to become dominant again we need to be strong up the middle again from Goalkeeper to CB to DM to ACM to striker, like we did in our most glorious years before and during Wenger's reign... with this in mind, if we want Ozil to be that dominant attacking midfielder we can't keep leaving him exposed to constant ridicule about his lack of defensive prowess and provide him with the proper players in the final third... he was never a good defensive player in Real or with the German National squad and they certainly didn't suffer as a result of his presence on the pitch... as for the rest of the midfield the blame falls squarely in the hands of Wenger and Gazidis, the fact that Ramsey, Ox, Sanchez and even Ozil were allowed to regularly start when none of the aforementioned had more than a year left under contract is criminal for a club of this size and financial might... the fact that we could find money for Walcott and Xhaka, who weren't even guaranteed starters, means that our whole business model needs a complete overhaul... for me it's time to get rid of some serious deadweight, even if it means selling them below what you believe their market value is just to simply right this ship and change the stagnant culture that currently exists... this means saying goodbye to Wiltshire, Elneny, Carzola, Walcott and Ramsey... everyone, minus Elneny, have spent just as much time on the training table as on the field of play, which would be manageable if they weren't so inconsistent from a performance standpoint (excluding Carzola, who is like the recent version of Rosicky — too bad, both will be deeply missed)... in their places we need to bring in some proven performers with no history of injuries... up front, although I do like the possibilities that a player like Lacazette presents, the fact that we had to wait so many years to acquire some true quality at the striker position falls once again squarely at the feet of Wenger... this issue highlights the ultimate scam being perpetrated by this club since the arrival of Kroenke: pretend your a small market club when it comes to making purchases but milk your fans like a big market club when it comes to ticket prices and merchandising... I believe the reason why Wenger hasn't pursued someone of Henry's quality, minus a fairly inexpensive RVP, was that he knew that they would demand players of a similar ilk to be brought on board and that wasn't possible when the business model was that of a «selling» club... does it really make sense that we could only make a cheeky bid for Suarez, or that we couldn't get Higuain over the line when he was being offered up for half the price he eventually went to Juve for, or that we've only paid any interest to strikers who were clearly not going to press their current teams to let them go to Arsenal like Benzema or Cavani... just part of the facade that finally came crashing down when Sanchez finally called their bluff... the fact remains that no one wants to win more than Sanchez, including Wenger, and although I don't agree with everything that he has done off the field, I would much rather have Alexis front and center than a manager who has clearly bought into the Kroenke model in large part due to the fact that his enormous ego suggests that only he could accomplish great things without breaking the bank... unfortunately that isn't possible anymore as the game has changed quite dramatically in the last 15 years, which has left a largely complacent and complicit Wenger on the outside looking in... so don't blame those players who demanded more and were left wanting... don't blame those fans who have tried desperately to raise awareness for several years when cracks began to appear... place the blame at the feet of those who were well aware all along of the potential pitfalls of just such a plan but continued to follow it even when it was no longer a financial necessity, like it ever really was...
