IPMN is one of three classes of pancreatic
cancer precursor lesions.
If a woman is positive for HPV genotypes 16 or 18, which convey the greatest risk of developing cervical
cancer precursor lesions in the next three years, she should be referred for a colposcopy (an illuminated, magnified examination of the cervix and other genital tissue for premalignant or malignant lesions).
There is no need to screen more frequently than every three years, since the cumulative occurrence of a cervical
