One of my favorite memories from an otherwise mismatched roommate situation is learning how to make candy
cane cookies.
We were still in our «honeymoon» period when he suggested we make candy
cane cookies.
The rent was cheap, the apartment was spacious, and I have the forever gift of these candy
cane cookies.
This time I revisited my minty candy
cane cookies and decided to change the flavourings.
I am now the proud owner of a COOKIE PRESS was able to write this recipe HERE (which are also Nut free)... Coincidentally while I was buying my cookie press, I also happened to come across this adorable candy
cane cookie cutter (say that 3 times fast).
The sugar sticks to the cookie because of the wash and makes the finished product more enticing than the average candy

Despite the fact that these are

cookies themselves are super chewy and soft, then the candy
canes add a delicious crunch to the texture.
There is no baking powder or baking soda in this recipe, as we do not want the
cookies to rise while they bake, as this would distort their candy
cane shape.

The first time I made these
cookies I made them peppermint flavored, since candy
canes do taste like peppermint.

cookies the right amount of moisture, it and lends the traditional flavor that you would get with a mix of white and brown sugar.
