Assault does most of the grunt work,
capturing uplink beacons, taking out bad guys and hovering up stragglers with his portable gun drone (all special abilities operate on a cooldown system).

There's a healthy selection of guns to unlock, upgrade and customise as well as basic training skills to unlock too, there's a tonne of cosmetic items to earn through the game's strong presence of loot boxes, and there's of course the usual mix of classic multiplayer staples such as Team Deathmatch, Domination, Free For All and
Capture The Flag that join more modern inclusions such as Kill Confirmed and Gridiron, a spin on Advanced Warfare's
Uplink mode.
Your Team Score indicates how close you are to establishing a Hacking
Uplink; increase it by defending your
Uplinks from Helghast
capture attempts, or by «banking» the Personal Score you've accumulated from kills, ability uses and recaptures.
It might be a mortar strike, an instant
capture of all three
uplink beacons, some extra defensive turrets or even jetpacks.
New modes such as
Uplink and Momentum are modernised favourites of
Capture the Flag, and the old WAR mode respectively.
Uplink plays out in a style similar to a mix of
Capture the Flag / Headquarters (COD franchise) where the attacking team has to steal data from the defending team from random locations on the map.
Both sides try to
capture a drone and deliver it to the opponent's
uplink.
