That trigger has now been reached with the planned opening of Asia's largest
carbon trading market next year in Shenzen, China.

It is unclear whether the upcoming Chinese
carbon trading market, starting from
next year, will allow companies to
trade emission credits generated from CCUS projects.
However the
carbon market is real (even in the U.S. where
carbon is
traded on the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX)-RRB- and it is likely that avoided deforestation will be incorporated as an emissions offset during the
next UN round, especially if projects are proving that it is viable.
Because the
carbon market is expected to be worth trillions in the
next 10 - 20 years, this why Gordon Brown is pushing hard for global
carbon trading exchanges, as he wants the UK to get in early and be a player in this
market.
