The Impreza is one of the safest compact
cars in its
class with
regards to the new small overlap front crash test ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and the WRX also holds that honor.
I can understand rules and regs for a vehicle
regarding what qualifies it to be
in what
class, but I find it difficult to accept that the GTLM
cars racing for glory and prestige at some of the greatest tracks
in the world are,
in some cases, over a hundred horsepower down on what i can buy at a local dealer.
It will carry over the much - praised interior and dashboard of the still - fresh C -
Class sedan
in a body that will be a little longer, lower, wider and more menacing than the well -
regarded 204 - series
car.
In this
regard it's more akin to a GT
car than a sportier sibling to the E
Class sedan.
However, it does line up against the Mazda6, which is widely
regarded as the best
car in the
class.
Whilst we would normally complain about the wide transmission tunnel compromising leg room for the poor soul stuck
in the middle rear seat, though, it's a problem that affects all
cars in this
class, so we won't crucify BMW too much
in this
regard.
