Another way to save more is to use
so - called online
cash back portals.
iConsumer is offering 1.3 %
cash back on eBay purchases,
so make sure to go through the
portal first.
As I mentioned before, I really wanted to get my hands on a Discover card
so I could gain access to their
cash back portal.
The only thing I can suggest is that users keep screenshots of transactions they carry out though all shopping
portals (
Cash Back or otherwise)
so that there's no room for the
portal to claim a transaction didn't occur and, as you suggest, for users to carefully read the terms and conditions before setting expectations.
people who buy miles usually do
so during one of the better promotions where you get either bonus miles or reduced price the
cash back portals sells them without any promotion and the % they are paying
back is sometimes way lower than the value you could have gotten during one of the promos i would only justify buying via
cash back portals if i needed miles in a hurry and no promos were around
Discover offers nice options for acquiring
cash back rewards easily (5X rotating categories, ShopDiscover
portal, frequent special deals) and
so it would be great to round that out with a way to get more than 1 cent per penny value from your Discover rewards (stay tuned for tomorrow's post where I'll show exactly how!).

so you can double - or triple - dip on a booking and get even more
cash back.
