With ever - growing resentment towards my creaky Commodore 64 with
its cassette loaded games and joystick, I probably wasn't far off giving up on gaming and instead dedicating my life to something even less illustrious like sticker collections or even paying attention at school.

I don't care about
load times because compared to
load times in the 80's when I had to wait for
games to
load on my computer on
cassette, which used to take nearly half an hour, this is surprisingly quick!
CDs weren't perfect, though: they needed to
load, like Spectrum or Commodore 64
games did from
cassettes.
Im not bad at
games and have been gaming since for well over 15 years - and this was the most frustrating gaming experience ive had since trying to
load games via
cassette on the original Commodore 64... Avoid.
It also showcases some of the unique work GPS is doing — at one point a volunteer is shown hand - delivering what appears to be a restored Data East DECO Cassette System, a ~ 36 - year - old arcade machine which played
games loaded in via
cassettes, to be played in a Niigata Prefecture supermarket.
White - out was painted on to mark the tuning locations for BBC 1, BBC 2 and ITV, and I vividly remember playing (Pac - Man knock - off) Radar Rat Race purely because I had the cartridge, which
loaded faster than
games on
cassette.
