Before you venture outdoors, invest in a harness and
leash specifically designed for
cats, and make sure your
cat is comfortable wearing the harness by
using encouraging verbal cues, and associating it with treats.
You might feel silly walking around your neighborhood with a
cat on a
leash, and your
cat may protest at first, but once he gets
used to it your
cat might actually enjoy walking with you.
Very few will tolerate being walked on a
