Some veterinarians will recommend the use of extremely mild soap (without any
flea products in it) to gently bathe the kittens,
catching and killing any
fleas that run away from the
water and up to the head, but please do not do this without the advice of your veterinarian.
Keep a glass of soapy
water nearby to wash the
caught fleas off into.
Have a cup of boiling
water ready to drop the
fleas into as you
catch them.
Use the
flea comb over all of the animal on a daily basis, and as you
catch fleas, dunk the comb into a glass of soapy
water to drown them.
FYI - a lot of the smaller
fleas I got of my cats were not
caught in the teeth but were either tangled in the removed loose fur or just on top of the teeth so I just used my fingers to hold them in place until I could put them in the dish liquid /
water container.
When you see a
flea caught in the comb, push the
flea out of the comb with a fingernail and into the soapy
water.
