It is still a matter of debate whether climate change will increase the number of hurricanes, but it is more and more clear that human -
caused heating of the planet will boost their severity.

«I do not believe that human activity is
causing these dramatic changes to our climate the way these scientists are portraying it,» the first term senator said Sunday on ABC «This Week,» after being asked by ABC News» Jon Karl whether humans were contributing to the
heating up
of the
planet.
The main
cause of climate change is greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas), which trap
heat in the atmosphere and warm the
planet.
«It gives us some insight into the connection between the slow circulation
of near - solid rock in Earth's mantle
caused by convection currents carrying
heat upwards from the
planet's interior, and observed active plate tectonics at the surface.
There's enough crisscrossing to
cause a seasonal «wave
of darkening» on parts
of the
planet during summer, Cantor says, making the surface retain more
heat.
According to this theory, the
heat generated by the collision would have
caused the whole
planet to melt, before some
of the debris cooled and spun off to create the Moon.
That may in turn have
caused the
planet to
heat up enough to melt deposits
of methane frozen in sediments on the ocean floor (something, incidentally, that could happen again), discharging even more potent greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and further
heating the
planet in an escalating feedback loop.
It also was thought that
planets were able to self - regulate their internal temperature via mantle convection — the underground shifting
of rocks
caused by internal
heating and cooling.
While a strong El Niño has given global temperatures a boost, the main reason for the spate
of intensely warm months is the long - term warming
of the
planet caused by the accumulation
of heat - trapping greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, scientists have found.
These oceans were formed by tidal
heating, that is, warming
of the ice
caused by friction between the surface ice and the core as a result
of the gravitational interaction between the
planet and the moon.
The
heat of its formation
caused extensive melting
of the
planet, leading Earth to separate into two layers when the denser iron metal sank inward toward the center, creating the core and leaving the silicate - rich mantle floating above.
The energetic impacts
of the smaller planetesimals will
heat up the growing
planet,
causing it to at least partially melt.
Fortunately, 2012 leaves all that phooey to a crazy pirate radio guy but instead invents its own crackpot reason for the Earth's destruction in the form
of mutated neutrinos from the Sun that act as microwaves on the
planet's core, which in turn
heat it
causing the Earth's crust to shift wildly and the magnetic poles to move.
Weren't they worried about them
causing a greenhouse effect that would
heat the
planet, as Hansen, Al Gore and a host
of others so fervently believe today?
According to data from the World Health Organization, rising temperatures on the
planet are killing off the equivalent
of a mid-sized city every year; about 150,000 annual deaths can be attributed to global warming, from
causes including
heat waves, air pollution, infectious disease, food safety and production, flooding and more.
I have no idea what you mean by the
heat on the
planet, but if you mean why do I reject the hypothesis
of human
caused global warming, here is a good place to start: http://www.cfact.org/2018/01/02/no-co2-warming-for-the-last-40-years/
We may not know for decades all
of the factors that precipitated a particular hurricane like Sandy, or what would have happened if we hadn't
heated our
planet or
caused CO2 levels to exceed 392 ppm (42 ppm above the safe level
of 350 ppm).
Human activities, such as burning coal and oil and cutting down tropical forests, have increased atmospheric concentrations
of heat - trapping gases and
caused the
planet to warm by 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit since 1880.
But that's actually an understatement by Gallup, since more than 97 %
of the world's climatologists say that those carbon gases, which are given off by humans» burning
of carbon - based fuels, are
causing this
planet's temperatures to rise over the long term, as those carbon gases accumulate in the atmosphere and also block the
heat from being radiated back into outer space.
That
causes an error
of about 3 % in the calculation
of heat transfer by evaporation from tropical seas — probably where most
of water on this
planet evaporates.

of the
planet, who are still relying on 19th century technologies to meet basic needs such as cooking and
heating, are bearing a heavy brunt
of the damages
caused by the economic activities
of the rich.
And the melting was
caused by tiny wobbles in the Earth's orbit that changed the
heat balance
of the
planet by only a fraction as much as our emissions
of greenhouse gases are doing today.
That's trapping excess
heat and
causing the surface
of the
planet to warm.
«The poorest
of the
planet, who are still relying on 19th century technologies to meet basic needs such as cooking and
heating, are bearing a heavy brunt
of the damages
caused by the economic activities
of the rich,» the document alleges.

causing unprecedented
heating of the
planet.

planet (temporarily) regardless
of what is
causing it to
heat up.
As the
planet warms, increasing levels
of water vapour in the atmosphere
caused by higher evaporation levels form more clouds and snow increasing the albedo
of the
planet, reflecting
heat back into space more efficiently, thus working to regulate the temperature downward.
The fact is, we are the ones on this
planet with the highest energy consumption and the end result
of all this energy consumption is a steady increase
of heat, carbon dioxide and other by - products into the atmosphere produced by us that is
causing gradual increases in the average temperature
of the earth's atmosphere from year to year.

planet is
heating up primarily because
of human
caused changes to the atmosphere.
Dennie: I am slowly coming to the realization that the
planet is
heating up not only from greenhouse gasses and aerosol particulates holding in
heat, but that the major
cause of the increased atmospheric
heat is due to microwave technology and the exponential increase in its saturation
of the entire global atmosphere.
That lack
of immediate concern may in part stem from a lack
of understanding that today's pollution will
heat the
planet for centuries to come, as explained in this Denial101x lecture: So far humans have
caused about 1 °C warming
of global surface temperatures, but if we were to freeze the level
of atmospheric carbon dioxide at today's levels, the
planet would continue warming.

Yet the Earth gets most
of its
heat from the Sun, so if the Sun were the
cause, we'd expect the effects
of warming to be much stronger on Earth than any outer
planets.
The reflect surface
of the world's oceans reflects a large quantity
of the Sun's energy (the greatest
cause of global «warming») back into space before it can
heat the
planet and / or be radiated in a form that can be «trapped» by the gases in the atmosphere.
Just a nit, but Venus is an example
of what happens to
planets close to the sun - it is more likely that the added
heat input
caused the CO2 release than that a sharp rise in CO2
caused a runaway warming trend.
Extra
heat absorption
caused by black carbon accounts for about 18 percent
of the total
heating of the
planet, compared to 40 percent for the much more notorious carbon dioxide.

of previously, burst on to the scene with an announcement that ACO2 was
causing the
planet to
heat rapidly and catastrophically, only IMMEDIATE action to curb or eliminate fossil fuels could save us, and that the science was settled.
In the case
of the
planet, it may be that the configuration
of any «cooling fins» and their effectiveness is not readily apparent and that the sum
of any
heating and cooling effects
caused by CO2 is not a tractable calculation, even if we had the measurements.
Most members
of the public accept the science that says carbon pollution is
heating the
planet and that this will
cause environmental damage.
Pressure doesn't
cause heat, the adiabatic lapse rate is given by g for the
planet divided by the specific
heat at constant pressure
of the atmosphere.
