I bought a green car (no, not an electric one... literally a green -
colored car), and
when I look around my home, there are pops of green in every corner, hanging from the
ceiling, and tucked into shelves.
When the doors opened, they revealed crates stacked from the floor to the
ceiling filled with dogs of all
colors and sizes.
The space is 420 sq. foot modern, light bright with lots o transom windows, high
ceilings, Maple floor, and maple kitchen cabinets, We knew ahead of time we would lose money on this investment, so we plan to just rent it out.We picked all the
colors to be neutral and made sure that the place feels light and open, we hope that will work in our favor
when we rent it.
What keeps me from doing it is 9 years ago it never dawned me that
when i picked a darker
color the builder would paint the
ceilings the same
color in the entire house.
Do you recommend painting the
ceiling the same as the walls
when using a neutral
color?
When I lived up north,
ceilings were lower and I had no trouble hopping on a ladder and changing a
color.
When it reaches all the way to a high
ceiling, as it does here, it can also balance out dark flooring and furniture while bringing focus to a light -
colored ceiling and an eye - catching chandelier.
Here is a good before and after (I thought a lot about TLC
when we were redoing, picking paint
colors, and painting that plank
ceiling!)
It makes the wall so short
when the horozonal
ceiling and sloped
ceiling is painted white and the wall is a different
color.
So usually the first step
when giving a bedroom a makeover is to paint the walls and
ceiling a different
color.
When the clutter was gone all that was visual was lots of rooms with painted trim (every
color of the rainbow), cardboard covered missing windows, a kitchen
ceiling falling down due to a leaking bathroom, ivy covering the first two stories and coming in the house through the windows, and a furnace in the basement that was coal converted dubbed «the octopus».

when we moved in, swine walls (the lighting in this picture make the walls look more tan but at many times of the day it was icky pinky flesh
colored), tan carpet I wasn't in love with, but great windows that let in a lot of light and a nice overall feel to the room with a higher peaked
ceiling.
White
color is the most preferred choice
when it comes to POP
ceiling.
When paired with the white bead board
ceiling and light hickory floors the
color reads almost as a neutral, yet it still lends enough depth to keep the room feeling robust.

Circular lanterns hanging from the
ceiling tie in with the
color palette and provide ambient lighting
when the sun goes down.
When using bold
colors if you bleed along a
ceiling it shows... watch the video!!!
When using a single
color, stick with white walls and
ceilings to keep from overdoing it.
Love how you did the lower walls in a darker
color, it makes the room look so warm and inviting,
when I usually think of cathedral
ceilings feeling cold.
If you want something a little darker (closer to a wet cement
color) then Sherwin Williams Gray Matters is really nice especially
when contrasted with crisp white trim or white
ceilings.
We had two options
when it came to paint throughout the house: no extra charge and the entire house would be painted SW Extra White OR pay $ 1,500 to have the entire house one of six
colors (walls painted the
color; doors, trim,
ceiling painted SW Extra White).
