What a fun way to
celebrate thanksgiving with your sister and almost husband!
Aunt Ruthie I wish we were
celebrate thanksgiving here.I would like to experience the preparations of decorating the house fro the the occassion and cook the most delicious foods like a farm wife in her country kitchen.
I'm a kiwi married to a Texan and
we celebrate thanksgiving in New Zealand so there's plenty of decorative styles that I can't really do, pumpkins, gourds etc are out of season here, but this I think would work for us!
For example, Perchten is similar to Halloween, Armistice Day is comparable to Veteran's Day, and many countries
celebrate a thanksgiving day, an independence day, and similar religious holidays.

I don't
celebrate thanksgiving but can be practical in any family gathering!!
I used butternut squash puree because in a country that doesn't
celebrate thanksgiving finding canned pumpkin puree is basically impossible (believe me I've tried)-- so needless to say I have been roasting a lot of gourds lately.
