It's also important for those of us who have grown weary of being treated like second - class Kingdom citizens to be reminded of the fact that there are indeed many Christian men out there who support and
celebrate women in the Church.
So on Tuesday I'll be highlighting the fantastic responses we received to our call for men to honor and
celebrate women in the Church as a way of providing an alternative to John Piper's assertion that Christianity should have a «masculine feel.»

I'm sad because I feel that our failure only confirms my fears that a
church like this one —
in which all are welcome,
in which
women can lead,
in which politics don't get
in the way of fellowship,
in which questions are encouraged,
in which a diversity of opinions is
celebrated,
in which gossip is kept to a minimum — simply can not make it
in Dayton.
I had finally found a
church that emphasized care for the poor, that studied Scripture, that
celebrated an end to nationalism, war, and hate, that provided equal opportunities
women in leadership, that stayed out of politics, and that spoke of God's inclusive love for all people... and it was
in New Jersey... and it was Reformed!
The
church can solve this problem by a «render unto Caesar» approach by relinquishing the legal role that the state has lumbered it with, and gets back to the basics of
celebrating who God puts together — which, as stated
in the previous verse, was between a man and
woman instinct-wise.
Write a blog post that highlights the feminine images of God found
in Scripture or that
celebrates the importance of
women in the
Church.
And yet
women who showcase leadership
in the
Church today are more likely be accused as a Jezebel than
celebrated as a Deborah.
If
women are
celebrated, empowered and given freedom to exercise their gifts
in leadership as God intends, imagine what it could do for the global
Church — God's kingdom on Earth as He intended — a glorious, united and beautifully vibrant people.
This just goes to show that, though conventional wisdom holds that
women are finding a voice online, it can still be a struggle to have those voices acknowledged and
celebrated in the
Church.
Go preach to your
church (of course if your a
woman, the bible forbids that), and force those of your family that want to
celebrate it to not, but don't pretend like you know the reasons for atheists to participate
in some areas of the holiday season, and to call hypocrisy wherever you want to.
