According to the latest estimate, the state's
population stood at 19.746 million residents last July, a 0.26 percent increase from the 19.696 million July 2013 estimate and a 1.9 percent increase from the 2010
census.
As of the 2010 United States
census, the
population stood at 70,145, which makes Jacksonville the 14th largest city in North Carolina.
