Vancouver has the highest concentration of luxury homes for sale in Canada, but in eight other cities more than 50 per
cent of active listings are in the $ 1 - million - plus category, says a recent report by Point2 Homes.

The increase in sales came as the number
of active listings fell 17 per
cent to 25,466, compared with 30,735 a year ago.

cent.

active listings at the end
of March were down more than 40 per
cent year over year, as buyers snapped up all the new
listings and more besides.

cent year over year, as hungry buyers absorbed all the new property
listings and many
of those previously on the market.
This is a 40.5 per
cent drop from the 12,376
active listings at the end
of March 2015 and a meagre 0.8 per
cent increase compared with February's 7,299 total
listed properties.

This is now the 15th consecutive month
of the sales - to -

listings ratio being above 30 per

The number
of active residential
listings on the KWAR's MLS ® System to the end
of March totalled 792, which is 80 per
cent more than March
of last year but still significantly below the previous ten - year average
of 1424
listings for March.
The overall supply
of homes for sale, as measured by the count
of active listings at the end
of February 2015, was down by 8.7 per
cent compared to the same count in February 2014.
The same market also experienced the most significant decrease in
listing inventory compared to the previous year: the 526
active listings represent a 27.6 per
cent decrease from May
of last year.
The number
of active listings at month end is notably lower than last year, and at 510 units is almost 27 per
cent fewer than at the same time in 2011.
New
listings are down 7.5 per
cent and there were 22.6 per
cent fewer
listings active at the end
of the month.
