The Emergency Grant Program provides funding after natural or man - made disasters that have affected a community, and from 1997 - 2012 the MFA Grant Program
supported artists as they graduated from their respective programs.Further assistance to individual
artists consists of program initiatives such as Creating a Living Legacy (CALL), Career Opportunity Grants, and the Joan Mitchell
Center in New Orleans, an
artist residency program.

The Flood Gallery Fine Art

Artists from every level participate in this exhibition to show their
support of Guild Hall and its role in their life as their community Museum, Theater and Educational Art

artists must come in many forms — from the Art Education Program in New York city, to our work preserving the legacies of mature
artists, to the Emergency Grant Program, to the Painters & Sculptors Grant Program, and finally later this year, in the launch of the
Artist Residency Program at Joan Mitchell
Center in New Orleans.
James was a deeply respected member of our
artist community, first
supported by the Foundation in 2010 with a Painters & Sculptors Grant and recently awarded an
artist residency at the Joan Mitchell
Center, which he began on February 26.
Based in the culturally diverse and historic city of New Orleans, the Joan Mitchell
Center's mission is to
support local, national, and international contemporary visual

ISSUE Project Room's
Artist - in - Residence program is made possible, in part, with
support from the National Endowment for the Arts, with public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, and with the
support of the New York State Council on the Arts with the

In January, after coronary catheterization reveals heart disease, undergoes ballon angioplasty procedure; during the summer months, collaborates with Townsend and guest
artists Eric Avery, Sue Coe, Sam Messer, and Joan Snyder at the New Provincetown Print Project; the resulting portfolio is published to jointly benefit the Fine Arts Work
Center and the Provincetown AIDS

Lucid Dreams and Distant Visions: South Asian Art in the Diaspora, organized by Asia Society Museum with the
support of the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American
Center, considers the work of nineteen contemporary
artists from the South Asian diaspora who explore notions of home and issues relating to migration, gender, race, and memory across mediums and aesthetics.
The festival will bring together 38 of the most exciting, creative, and respected not - for - profit
