The exhibition slated for Portland in fall 2019 and traveling to additional US museums in 2020, highlights the work of an artist devoted to reframing perspectives on difficult issues central to American history and the representation of race and the politics of visual culture.

This groundbreaking exhibition, curated by Alex Donis, features the works of five seminal artists and artist groups: Rachel Rosenthal, Barbara T. Smith, Suzanne Lacy / Leslie Labowitz - Starus, Electronic Café International and EZTV; all who have been central to the alternative artist space movement in Southern California since the early 1970's.

Her work Loop is central to the exhibition, but is also the only work to have a separate room (Swartz's line drawings are also technically in separate compartments, but are only viewable through windows in the main gallery).

Including major installations and rarely seen works on paper and archival materials, the exhibition is a long - overdue exploration of Le Parc's central role in twentieth - century art history.

The central reference point of the exhibition is the work of Polish artist Alina Szapocznikow (1926 - 1973), which has gained international recognition in recent years.

-- The sound artist and painter developed a new body of work as part of his Artist Lab residency and exhibition in fall 2012, focused around the alternate guitar tuning scale E-D-G-B-D-G unique to the Central Andes.
