It's been ten years since the Children's Internet Protection Act — the
law that requires
public libraries and K - 12 schools to employ internet filtering software in exchange for
certain federal funding — was upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court as constitutional.
You should qualify if you are working for
certain other organizations that provide any of the following services: emergency management; military services;
public safety;
law enforcement;
public interest
law services;
public child care;
public service for individuals with disabilities and the elderly;
public health;
public education;
public library services; and school
library or other school - based services.
If you serve 10 years in a
public organization — police, fire, government, military,
public education,
public health, social work,
public interest
law, or
public library — and meet
certain income specifications, your loan may forgiven.
Some non-profit agencies that deliver
certain public services such as emergency management,
law enforcement,

public health services, would also qualify.
It's important to note that a not - for - profit employer that is not a tax - exempt organization may still qualify for the PSLF if it provides
