Sometimes I wish I could go
back to the days of
chalk boards and overhead transparencies, not just to simplify teaching and learning but to minimize distractions and focus on what is really important — just plain learning.
First, I painted the front and
back of my wooden bird with
chalk board paint, allowing it to dry between coats.
We have an unfinished wood store near us here in CT and I bought three of the wood black - framed cork
boards for $ 5 each (one for each kiddo) Think I might go
back and see if they have
chalk boards as well... but just wanted to offer that suggestion in case anyone has a similar store near them (its called The Mill STore).
It's a blank slate for my client to add personal touches and hopefully a
chalk board or magnetic
board to the
back for scheduling and artwork but for now you can see how we had it stocked with first aid, batteries, office supplies, the printer, and cookbooks.

chalk board paint and glue a row of pegs in place to act as clips for receipts or notes.
